About

We know that in recent years, the search for games has become longer, and primarily this is due to the stricter restrictions imposed by the selection of the game by role. Before that, there were fewer restrictions, and the pool of possible players was correspondingly larger. If previously several players wanted to take one role, they resolved their differences during the game, which often led to unpleasant consequences. Now this conflict is resolved during the search, but often players in unpopular roles are not enough. The matching system has to either wait for the right players or create sub-optimal combinations to meet all the requirements for the roles. The role of full support is most in demand, but this is not always the case: as experience shows, it all depends on the time of day, rating, region and other factors.

To address role inequality more globally, in today’s update we’re introducing a quick search system for ranked play. Players with a quick search receive priority in the selection and get into the game before the rest. Selecting all the roles before the game, you will automatically turn on the quick search, as well as earn his tokens.

Playing alone and selecting all the roles, you get four quick search tokens that you can use in the future. Tokens can also be earned when playing in a group, if the selection of its members also covers all roles. Players in a group of two people receive two tokens, in a group of three people — one. You can earn and store up to 60 quick search tokens.

For example, if one player chooses three base roles and the other two support roles when searching, they will not only find themselves in a quick search, but will also receive two tokens. Groups of 5 people always participate in a quick search, but do not get tokens for it. We’ve added a new interface to help you understand if your group has a quick search.

Our data show that the unlimited choice of roles can not lead to their sufficient diversity necessary for the full operation of the selection system, and negatively affects the search speed and quality of games. With quick search, we aim to solve the “battle of the mid” problem and prevent conflicts during the game, while increasing the variety of roles and reducing the search time to acceptable.

In the near future, we will make sure that quick search expands the pool of possible players sufficiently, and change the system as needed. We will also gradually update our behaviour and complaints systems in the coming weeks. As always, we are waiting for your feedback. Thank you for your patience!
